Bandwidth controls to improve quality of service (QoS) on the unit can be enabled to limit user download and upload speed, spreading the available bandwidth evenly across users. You can also set time and data limits per user from any device connected to your network.

The GIS-K5 Hotspot Gateway is a simple plug and play installation, requiring no specialist knowledge.

The GIS-K5 offers an economical approach to providing managed public Internet access for small businesses, such as motels and hotels, retail stores, medical offices and government offices. The high performance wireless 802.11/n offers connection speeds up to 300Mb/s. The GIS-K5 is installed on the ceiling of a building; each GIS-K5 can cover from 2000 to 5000 sq ft, depending on the building construction.

Installing the GIS-K5 is simple: connect the WAN port to the Internet and power it up using the 12volt power supply or 24volt PoE supply. Connect a computer to the LAN port or wireless "Hot Spot" connection then open a browser. The browser screen will display the setup wizard.

The GIS-K5 can provide free Internet access with a disclaimer or select one of several other login modes that require an access code or social media loin. The GIS-K5 can control Internet access by requesting users to type an access code into the login page to connect to the Internet. The GIS-K5 includes access code generation and management features that are used by the business owner to create and delete codes. Two tier access can be configured with free Internet access set at a slow download speed, and fast Internet access available with a credit card purchase.

The GIS-K5 firewall prevents a hacker getting access to network equipment installed on the WAN port of the GIS-K5. The GIS-K5 can be used in conjunction with other Guest Internet products. The GIS-K5 can be managed locally, or via the GIS free Cloud service. Multiple GIS products can be managed as a group within a Cloud account.
